The New Infinity

Internationally-acclaimed, planetarium-inspired immersive art experience The New Infinity made its U.S. premiere at Wisdome LA on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Bringing new art to planetariums, The New Infinity screened leading immersive films in its 360-degree dome theatre. The special, one-day only event also hosted a Planetary Art Summit and discussion with artists and leaders in the space.

The three immersive films included works by artists David OReilly, Holly Herndon & Mathew Dryhurst, and Fatima Al Qadiri & Transforma. The Planetary Art Summit, featured a lively discussion about the artistic potential of planetariums and fulldome content, and their ability to immerse visitors in new realities. Panel participants included Thomas Oberender, Director of the Berliner Festspiele; David OReilly, visual artist and game designer; Marta Fontolan, Director of Sprüth Magers Los Angeles, and Jesse Damiani, author and expert for media and new technologies.
